He recently recommended a joint called Marion’s, 354 Bowery between Great Jones and East 4th Street in the East Village. Where the West Village is very Chardonnay, Brie and touristy, the East Village has always had the punks,the crazies, the rock “n” roll and a very cool atmosphere. Here, in Russell’s words, is the rest of the story: “We wandered in and waited for a table. We stood in a perfectly, albeit dimly, lit bar/restaurant. Warm, cozy, welcoming and rock “n” roll. The bartender made the perfect screwdriver. How so? She filled the glass with vodka, and then a few drops of O.J. By the time our host, owner Richard sat us down (I admire any biz owner who still works the biz, like I still drive), we were well on our way to where cocktails are supposed to take you. It seemed all the pretty waitresses had tattoos on their shoulders. Vintage music played all night. The candles lit the table perfectly. Beauty’s burger platter was too much. My veggie ravioli was perfect and I think the waitress heard that we would split a Caesar salad, ‘cause it was perfect for two people. In short we Loved it all. ALL we do is work. When we don’t work, we think about work. For a few hours, we forgot the work and enjoyed ourselves and allowed a good time to seep in. For my wife Beauty to say, “This is great” is a Times worthy ENTREE – June 2008 10 review. day one – fresh faces in the tents before a week of corruption.
How much do we love Russell, our amazing TOWN CAR LIMO NYC driver? Let us count the ways.
RUSSELL, This gem driver took a break from his typical clientele of diamond-buying socialites, royalty (don’t ask who, he had to take an oath of silence), high profile rappers and president’s daughters, to drive around two little fashion editors all week long.
Thanks to Russell, our BFF, we enjoyed regular photoshoots to the soundtrack of Enya, surprised crowds of LES hipsters and Vogue editors at the Alex Wang show and countless LES after parties by arriving set to a soundtrack of Sinatra blasting, and even got to chat with RUSSELL’S gem wife, Beauty sometimes.
When RUSSELL picked us up at 3 am as our flight landed(lga car service) and we discovered he stocks his TOWN CAR NYC car with hard candies, we knew we were in for a great week.
